As an advocate for clean cooking uptake in Africa, my journey has mostly centered on encouraging the adoption of biogas. Over time, I have seen firsthand the significant impact that clean cooking solutions can have on individuals, families, and communities.
One of the most promising solutions I have championed is biogas, a renewable energy source produced from organic waste materials such as #animalwaste, #agriculturalresidues, and kitchen waste. Biogas technology offers a sustainable and cost-effective way to address the energy needs of households while simultaneously managing waste.
However, along the way, I've encountered numerous myths and misconceptions that often deter people from embracing this sustainable energy solution. These misconceptions stem from a lack of awareness, misinformation, and deeply ingrained cultural practices. It's essential to address these myths head-on and provide accurate information to pave the way for wider acceptance and adoption of biogas.
